Casino de Paris Print
This exuberant lithograph was originally created in 1920 by the fabulous Leonetto Cappiello.
With a history dating back to around 1730, the Casino de Paris is widely regarded as one of the most famous music halls and cabaret theatres of Paris!
Mistinguett, nee Jeanne Florentine Bourgeois, was a singer, dancer, comedienne, film actress but also an astute business woman, becoming one of the highest-paid female entertainers in the known world. She premiered at the Casino de Paris and went on to perform in other famous venues like Moulin Rouge, Folies Bergere and Eldorado blazing the trail for women of later generations.
Leonetto Cappiello was known for using dark backgrounds that made his subjects and his style jump right off the page, as so expertly executed here with Mistinguett.
